Term 4 - Visual structure - Aunt Beast Design

This character is Aunt Beast from a Wrinkle in Time. I went through many iterations and my main inspiration was nebulas that not only inspired me with color, but also for the abstract shapes seen, as each of them have a certain mood to them.

This design was thrown out as the tentacles were too bouncy and ungrounded; it looked too much like a creature and not as the ancient, intelligent, motherly being that it was.
